So we still tease Camille from time to time about her goalkeeper skills back on one of her very first soccer teams. During one game she let a ball roll right by her while she stood perfectly still. When we asked her about it she said she couldn't move because there was a bee on her shirt. Logical, right? Well, of course I reassured her that if a bee was ever on her again she could just wave the bee away and that it wouldn't hurt her. Well, can you see where this is going? Fast forward to yesterday's soccer game, seconds before the referee blows the whistle to start the second half. Camille is in position, concentrating hard, when she feels something on her arm. Of course, she tries to wave it away, and, you guessed it, gets stung, hard, right on the upper arm. Good thing you don't use your arms (officially) in soccer because she had to play the second half with a very sore bicep!
Oh, by the way, the game ended in a tie, 1-1, after a double overtime. They don't have a shoot out unless it's a play-off game.
Oh, no! That was bound to happen. Guess she had the right idea all along when she was 6. Not funny, but we had to laugh, because we remember the first event so well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story. I need to be better about sharing those kind of things. I'm not a very good blogger. Yeah, we're going to miss Ogden too. We have really enjoyed being in the ward...and especially getting to know you and your family better. You have really outstanding kids! We'll be back from time to time, so it will be nice to see everyone again.
