Timp Cave

Last Friday when the kids were out of school we decided to hike to Timpanogos Cave with Grandma, Grandpa and Megan. It had been years since we'd done it. Scott had only vague memories, and Kevin and Matt had never been. It was a gorgeous day, the canyon was beautiful, and we went early so it was nice and cool.

The kids and their ghost friend inside the cave. Scott told me to pretend this picture was on purpose, but actually my camera was on a goofy setting, and it was too dark to mess with it too much, so I didn't get any great pictures inside the cave.

Kevin's Game

Finally, I got some pictures of one of Kevin's games, and on the most beautiful day of the year, too! 70 degrees, not a cloud in the October blue sky, and trees (and bushes) in brilliant colors all around town and covering the foothills. I think my kids are tired of me exclaiming about the beauty. Scott says that the colors of the fall leaves just means they're dying, and it's true, but I still think they're a gift.

We have been really proud of Kevin this year. His old team disbanded at the end of last year, so he's on a new team formed from parts of other teams. He has a new coach and he started the year as a benchwarmer, playing very little. He has kept a good attitude, though, and has kept working hard, and he's worked his way up to being a starter. It's been fun to watch him gain confidence and become more and more aggressive on the field.

Conference Weekend at the Cabin

Even though Grandma and Grandpa are gone, we decided to spend a couple of days at the cabin this weekend. It's one of our favorite places to go, but the best part about it is Grandma and Grandpa, so it wasn't quite the same. But we valiantly tried to have fun anyway. We played games, rode 4-wheelers, listened to conference, and stayed warm by the fire. It was chilly, but nice weather until Sunday, when it rained and hailed on us.

A Beautiful Day for Soccer

The last few weeks our life has been a blur of soccer games and school work. With all 4 kids playing, I figure we have 7 games and 10 practices a week, not including Kevin's reffing. It's a little crazy making sure everyone gets where they're supposed to be, but when the actual games start and we get to watch them, its a lot a fun. This time I'll post some pictures from Scott's game in Orem yesterday. It was a gorgeous day in a gorgeous setting on a nice field. What could be more fun? I posted the pics of Mt. Timpanogos for Mom and Dad. It looked beautiful and made me feel nostalgic for home just a little bit. (Even though I'm only an hour away).
