The first weekend in October we travelled to St. George so Camille could run the St. George Marathon. Her roommate, Julia went with us. On Friday night Matt, Camille, Julia, and I attended "Aladdin" at Tuacahn. We all loved it. Saturday morning was the marathon, and Camille did great!
She achieved her goal of under 4 hours with a time of 3:53.
We missed most of the first session of General Conference when we were cheering Camille on. While we were waiting with her at the finish line for Scott to go get the car, Julia's mom texted her with the news about the new missionary ages. We couldn't believe it, and it was all the buzz among all those we knew there at the finish line and others who were texting. It doesn't change anything for Camille, obviously, and Scott is almost 19, and ready to pull the trigger on sending his papers any day now, so it doesn't affect him either, but it will affect Kevin big time. He is a little shocked. He would have had a whole year of college after high school since he has a spring birthday, but now he could go on his mission a whole year earlier. That time will be here before we know it. You can sense the excitement when the prophet speaks about something like this. I would love to have heard it live. We watched the rest of Saturday's conference and Sunday morning's session in our motel and listened to Sunday afternoon while driving home. It was a wonderful conference and a nice weekend.
