A New Temple and an Emptying Nest

On Thursday morning the kids and I went through the beautiful new Brigham City Temple during the open house tours.  It is wonderful.  Much of the flooring is done in marble with a beautiful inlaid design around the border, and there is a fruit blossom motif throughout in the stained glass and trim. Some of the artwork ties in to the fruit trees that are so prevalent in the valley around and I read that there are several different kinds of fruit-bearing trees on the temple grounds.  I look forward to visiting this temple again after it is dedicated.

We pulled off a quick clothing change in the (fully-loaded) cars, and continued our drive up to Logan, where we deposited Scott at his new apartment at the Living Learning Center at Utah State.  We went grocery shopping, got his parking pass, made up his bed, but left him (at his request) to finish moving in himself.  He has a few days to pick up his pre-ordered books, get the lay of campus, and settle in before class starts on Monday.  I can't believe my little boy is all grown up and on his own!

On Friday Camille and I did it all over again in the other direction, as we drove our even more fully-loaded cars down to Provo and got her all settled for her third year at BYU.  She was excited to see her roommates again and get started on a new year.
