When I graduated I remember wondering what all the fuss was about. I mean everyone except the true slackers graduates, right? It's not like we were graduating from medical school or something. Camille said something similar to me the other day, and I told her that from a parent's perspective, we're not just celebrating the fact that our children have completed enough credits to fulfill the requirements to graduate. High school graduation is a real milestone in a child's life. Camille has been 18 for a while, but it seems like leaving high school is the real transition from childhood to adulthood. It's bittersweet, but the way Camille has lived her life so far, it is really something to celebrate.
Adorable! What a great thought shared as well. Glad to see Flashback Friday on your site.... love it!
ReplyDeleteAnxious to hear how all the testing is going for Camille this week!
So THAT picture brought tears to my eyes!!! Grandpa reminded me that the night before Camille started kindergarten we all were together for dinner (probably celebrating a birthday) and someone told Camille that she looked like a school girl. She answered back, "I AM a school girl". Now she is almost a college girl!
ReplyDeleteWow! This picture brings back memeories. Look at those adorable eyes. Thank you for sharing your pictures. It will be fun to see her future unfold.
ReplyDeleteSince this is the way we communicate now...
