Happy St. Patrick's Day

For breakfast on St. Patrick's Day we had GREEN thin hots (kind of like crepes). They looked awful, but tasted yummy!

Saying goodbye!

The time has finally come! Grandma and Grandpa are really leaving! We will all miss them, but we know they will do a wonderful job on their mission in Russia. We will love reading their letters and experiencing their adventures with them.

Saying Goodbye!

Construction workers

Scott and John are working hard to finish the sport court. The kids love to play there already, but it will be a lot nicer when it's not just cement.

Catching up - February

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday in February. Niel and Amy's family and Grandma and Grandpa came over for a birthday dinner. It was fun to spend time together.

Matthew helped make rolls for dinner. He loves to help in the kitchen.

Grandpa (and his helpers) blew out 66 candles. Look at all that smoke!

Grandma joined in on Guitar Hero. She's a natural. Grandpa tried to stay awake for the performance, but he didn't quite make it!

Catching up - January 2009

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin for Martin Luther King Day since the kids were out of school. Niel and Amy's family was there and Scott's friend, Brandon came along. It looks like he's wondering what he got himself into. It was a fun weekend.
Camille gave Grandpa a mustache and glasses as part of a game we were playing. He's such a good sport!

Scott and Brandon helped Grandpa make an igloo. It's quite a process, but Grandpa is an expert. This is the second one he's made this year.

Scott and Brandon slept in the igloo that Grandpa had made a couple of weeks earlier. Snow had fallen and filled in all the cracks between the blocks. Even though it was a cold night they said they were toasty warm.

The kids had fun playing in the snow the next day. It was a beautiful, sunny day and everything was so pretty we hated to leave and come home to the winter inversion in the valley.

Catching up - Christmas 2008

Matt and Kevin helped make an awesome gingerbread house for their school gingerbread contest. Yummy!

Matthew made cookies for Santa from the leftover gingerbread house dough. I have it on good authority that Santa thought they were delicious.

Christmas Eve dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Next Christmas they will be in Russia!

The kids are ready for bed in their new pajamas. They're also tired of posing for pictures, but they're being good sports!
